Wilco Precast, in conjunction with Bridgeman Concrete and Reids Construction Systems have made a contribution to the Bruce Pullman Trust at Papakura.
The Bruce Pullman Park is a totally new concept in New Zealand sports, recreational and leisure amenities. It is geared towards community excellence at all levels and all socio-economic groups and has gained recognition for its world class sports grounds and indoor facilities on 64 hectares of spacious park surroundings.
In the late 1980s the then Papakura District Council originally purchased the park land. In a unique structure the Trust has leased the Park from the Council to provide the improvements and amenities, all from sponsorships or donations; the Trust’s philosophy being that everyone in the community, irrespective of age, gender, physical ability or nationality can use the facilities and services provided for recreation, leisure or sporting pursuits.
The trust is very conscious of the economic demographics of people who live in this area and has been set up specifically to maintain and manage the park on a self-funding basis. The Trust will continue to build the best of facilities such as the Netball Centre, Gymsport and Recreation Centre, Team Sports Facility; or sporting grounds such as the Cricket Ovals or walkways that even includes a scented garden for the blind.
The Park will always be maintained to a high standard and fully utilised . . . a fantastic investment for the future generations of the Papakura and Counties-Manukau region.
