Wilco Precast is privileged to be able to support those in our community who are less fortunate or who are in need of a helping hand.
In 2019, we’ve contributed towards Ronald McDonald House Charities®. Specifically, our donation has directly assisted New Zealand families with children staying in hospitals far from home.
Funds raised by RMHC® help pay for accommodation at Ronald McDonald House for out-of-town family members.
Please see the acknowledgement letter below from RMHC New Zealand. We are proud to be able to contribute towards easing the burden of these families at such a difficult time.
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your support of Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) New Zealand, and for participating in Host a Family at Auckland Supper Club. Because of you, $100,000 was raised on the night, which goes a long way towards supporting families who have a child staying in a hospital far from home.
You all heard from Megan Kareko from Dargaville, who is spending time in Ronald McDonald House in Auckland with her family while her son Makai receives treatment for leukaemia.
“It has helped my family immensely financially but most importantly emotionally by being able to be together during tough times. It’s our ‘home-away-from-home” Megan, mum.
$100,000 is equal to 714 nights of accommodation for a family staying in a Ronald McDonald House. This amount will most certainly cover the entire cost of the Kareko family’s stay, and also the 4,300 other families we support every year.
Once again, thank you, Andrew, for your support of the Auckland Supper Club and for hosting families like the Karekos, and the thousands of other families who use our services every year.
Best wishes,
Lucy, Holly and the RMHC New Zealand team
